ever been to a preschool reunion??

this dream is a couple of days old, so it's a little blurry, but I'll make an attempt at remembering it.

I'm at my old preschool, but it's in the present day so I'm older, and it's sort of a preschool reunion of sorts I guess. all the people I went to preschool with are there, along with their parents and spouses. I don't remember or recognize anyone specifically, but I knew they were all my classmates. I'm there with my mom, and my friend ramon, who might've been my boyfriend but I'm not sure on that part (which is pretty random because he's not really a part of my everyday life & in real life I haven't even seen him since june).

we're walking around looking at class pictures that have been hung on the walls, like we're at an art gallery, and I'm pointing myself out to ramon because I'm proud of something. he's happy to see pictures of me as a little kid, and is awwing over how cute I was. but the weird thing is, in most of the pictures I'm turned to the side, like I'm handing someone something, and I'm distracted. all the other kids are facing forward, lined up in these rows by heighth and smiling, and I'm always smiling but turned to the side.

that's about all I remember, except in the dream I felt very loved, and was missing my preschool self.

Dandan's awkward introduction

Hi. I'm Dandan. I have dreams too! Some are crazy. A lot of the time I have trouble remembering the details, but I'm going to do my best to change that and become an active contributor to this neat blog.

I also talk in my sleep, and blog about it here, if you care to check it out. There are sounds!

Just to get started, here's an old one from March 2006 I wrote about:

----------
I was visiting my close friends R (girl) and Z (boy) in their new home. In the dream, they lived in a small, old, vine-covered house with some old lady, who I assumed owned the house. She just sat around and looked old and stuff.
Then, Z had to drive R to the doctor so she could get a nose job. It was weird, because R has a nice nose and I couldn't imagine any plastic surgery to make it better.

Z and I were in the operating room while the doctor cut into R's nose on both sides. It was gross, but I was pretty calm and a-matter-of-fact in the dream.

Then it was over and R didn't look much different, just scarred with thin red lines and a little swollen. NO bandages or anything.

And that's all I remember.

Love, Dandan

swim competition...prize: hello kitty candy

dream segment from sunday:
i'm standing, alongside other swimmers who are lined up to my left and to my right. each of us is standing on a small white towel, about several inches (maybe a foot) away from what looks like the concrete edge of a pool. i'm focused looking at our leg and feet positions...everyone seems to know how to start, but i'm uncertain of the right start position. i am moving my legs and feet trying to find a comfortable but appropriate position for my feet, looking at others' to get an idea of how to start. but since everyone's positions are not entirely uniform, i try to place my feet in a way that feels right for me. whilst doing so, i am aware of how close i am, while getting in my position, to the edge, being careful not to touch the water before the competition begins. only a second after this note of cautiousness on my part, the sign of the competition beginning is signaled. everyone jumps into the water, as do i, somewhat sloppily in form. i am aware that everyone around me seems to be trained or confident in what they are doing and that i am not. we are all swimming in what at first appears to be a pool but branches out into what looks like an ocean or other vast natural body of water. not long after we have begun, i am thinking that there is no way that i can win the competition, but i really want to try and do so.

i don't remember if much happened between swimming and reaching the shore, but eventually, i do reach the shore of an island-like place. there are people waiting there, non-competitors, including a bunch of my friends. i'm the first one on the shore, because i won! i'm walking around on the first floor of an open courtyard area of a small, two-story, plaza-like building, shaded by trees. i am picking out hello kitty-shaped candies that are moon-shaped and colored a deep blue hue. i'm told to do so, because it is my prize for winning the competition. being estranged from hello kitty at my "mature" age in waking life, i suddenly am fully confronted with and embracing the fact that "i really do like hello kitty!" i'm pretty sure ashley is one of the friends there, or that i thought of her at that moment. funny.
